Rose Red & Lavender is written by Kimberly Sevilla.
Kimberly has been gardening since she was three and her mother taught her how to grow lettuce and radishes in a small kitchen garden.
Originally from West Virginia, she was raised in an agricultural oriented community where she learned all sorts of useful skills. Her father has a degree in forestry and taught her all about trees and the forest, and her mother came from a family of applacatan farmers and pioneers and taught her how to grow and preserve food.
She has a BS in Biology and Chemistry and worked for the USDA Fruit Research facility throughout her college years. After moving to New York, Kimberly worked as a Creative Director and designer for events, exhibits, and retail displays. She continued her passion for gardening and raising as a hobby during these years and perfected techniques for urban gardening by utilizing skills she learned while traveling to other countries.
Kimberly opened Rose Red & Lavender with her husband Enrique, also a designer to share her passion for plants and flowers with the people in her neighborhood. Since then, Rose Red & Lavender has become a destination for event flowers, every day flowers, planting and gardening advice and fun classes.
